What the site is for

Every October the whole city goes out at once, and the same questions come up every night: which pandals are worth it, where exactly they are, which metro gets you closest, and what order to see them in so you aren't walking in circles. Pujor Shohor answers those questions on one site that works on a phone in a crowd.

Where the information comes from

• Pandals are curated by us and sent in by readers through the Add a pandal form. Every submission is checked before it is published.
• Themes come from news reports and committee announcements, each credited on the 2026 themes page.
• Maps, metro stations and places to eat come from OpenStreetMap. Bus routes are from Kolkata Bus-O-Pedia, used with permission.
• Puja dates are checked against the panjika.

Themes, timings and road closures change from year to year, and sometimes on the day. Check locally before you set out, and tell us when something is wrong.

Independence

We are not affiliated with any puja committee, sponsor, government body or transport operator, and no committee pays to be listed or ranked. Rankings come from readers' votes. The site is kept free by advertising; see the privacy policy for how that works.
